Listen in to a stream of consciousness character creation podcast. Attributes and skill determination, equipment, armour and weapons selection, plus dice rolls, page flipping, potato chip munching, with some RPG talk. Relaxing classical music in the background, from the Victoria II video game soundtrack, adds to the anticipatory atmosphere as we prepare to traverse northward along The Sword Coast.

CAMPAIGN ARC: TYRANNY OF DRAGONS

The Sword Coast is under siege - In an audacious bid for power, the Cult of the Dragon, along with its dragon allies and the Red Wizards of Thay, seeks to free Tiamat from her prison in the Nine Hells to bring her to the Forgotten Realms. The cult's forces are sweeping from town to town, laying waste to all who oppose them and gathering a hoard of riches for their dread queen. The threat is so dire, factions as disparate as the Harpers and the Zhentarium are banding together to battle the cult. Never before has the need for heroes been as desperate.

This campaign is set in the Forgotten Realms on Faeruns's western shore - the Sword Coast. A thin strip of civilization stretches down this coast, where widely placed cities are arranged like beads on a string. A combination of roads and wagon tracks loosely connect the cities that stretch from  Luskan in the north to Calimport in the south, passing through Neverwinter, Waterdeep, Baldur's Gate, and other great ports along the way.

The Cult of the Dragon has been active in Faerun for centuries. It has focused on making undead dragons to fulfill a prophecy most of that time, but that is changing (text adapted from HotDQ, Kobold Press, 2014).

E10: ATLANTIS - THE SECOND AGE (SESSION 9: TO END ALL THINGS)

Campaign Conclusion. Now that they have discovered the nefarious reasons for the Orichalcum heist, Sabus (Druas Marine) and Tarkus Zull (Atlantean Alchemist) must stop their arch-nemesis from annihilating Atlantis with a global superflood. This will require travelling via a sub-oceanic Orichalcum/Vril-powered rail system all the way to the port at Cyrago, on the Saharan Sea, on the continent of Gondwana. What will the PCs encounter at the end of the line? Will they be able to prevent the Second Age from ending?

E9: ATLANTIS - THE SECOND AGE (SESSION 8: BENEATH THE RUINED CITY OF MINOEUS)

Sabus (Druas Marine) and Tarkus Zull (Atlantean Alchemist) hop on their ostriches and follow the rail line downward to beneath Mineous. Seemingly disconnected aspects of the story so far coalesce and converge in this session: true identities of NPCs emerge, why the seaport across the ocean at Cyrago was overtaken by rebels, an explanation for the anomalous atmospheric phenomena and - most astonishingly - reasons for the Orichalcum heist. Listen in to discover the revealing details.

Travelling on their battle birds, otherwise known as ostriches, Sabus (Druas Marine) and Tarkus Zull (Atlantean Alchemist) head to the interior of Mestea. Destination: Minoeus, a city in remnants and ruins, destroyed during the cataclysm that ended the First Age. The course is treacherous, but the thrill for adventure and exploration surpasses any fear of unknown dangers. What will they encounter on their journey? Listen in to find out.

The Lady Mestea enters the harbour at Klymeus, the capital city of Mestea. The Gondwanian vessel closely trailing the Lady Mestea then commences to use its own vril canon to bombard the capital and the Lady Mestea herself, still with Sabus (Druas Marine) and Tarkus Zull (Atlantean Alchemist) aboard. The sky is lit up with streaming red vril rays while an air battle ensues, with flying sleds and heads. Will the PCs make it ashore? Listen in as the dynamic duo, as usual, cause problems and catastrophes wherever they go.

Aboard the seagoing vessel Lady Mestea, Sabus (Druas Marine) and Tarkus Zull (Atlantean Alchemist) travel northward up the eastern Atlantean coast to the Kingdom of Mestea. Whilst in transit, something frightening from the deep blue waters below emerges, attempting to take over the ship. A blood bath ensues. Afterward, a ship noticed along the horizon appears to be following the Lady Mestea. Why? What happens? Listen in to find out.

E5: ATLANTIS - THE SECOND AGE (SESSION 4: HOLE IN THE SKY)

After being captured upon trying (again) to gain access at Atlantis' main sea port facility, Sabus (Druas Marine) and Tarkus Zull (Atlantean Alchemist) have to make a decision. Should they wait for the legal authorities to dole out their fate? Or should they make a jail break? If they attempt an escape, where do they go? While all this is happening, an ominous atmospheric phenomenon occurs, underscoring the crisis that Atlantis is experiencing. This session is mainly narrative driven. E4: ATLANTIS - THE SECOND AGE (SESSION 3: FUN WITH A VRIL CANON)

After discovering the underground hideout of Dorian Thermarkson, Sabus (Druas Marine) and Tarkus Zull (Atlantean Alchemist) uncover a vril canon - a rare super weapon with mind boggling destructive power. Rather than return back to ground level, the PCs decide to take the weapon with them as they continue to travel underground in the sewer system. However, as they go along their way, they see something protruding out of the side of the tunnel, something very bizarre. Surrealist mayhem ensues. Then, continuing to explore underground, they end up at a location that seems somewhat familiar. Listen in to find out whereat. Audio quality improves significantly starting in the next episode.

The mysterious NPC, Magnimar, shows up again and provides them with a map layout of Dorian Thermarkson's underground hideout, or so he claims. Sabus and Tarkus manage to breach a large sewer grate along the canal near the Hidden Quarter, entering Atlantis' sewer system. Listen in to find out what happens afterwards. CAMPAIGN ARC: CRISIS ATLANTIS

A massive shipment of Orichalcum has been heisted from the mines in the Atlas Mountains, located to the north in the Kingdom of Gaderia. The destination of this precious metal has been traced to the City of Atlantis itself, although its exact location is unknown. Of the prominent rumours floating about, the stolen Orichalcum might be located in the so-called Hidden Quarter, proximate to the canals at the Garden District of the city. "Tunnels", "caverns", "chambers", "sewers", "catacombs", "ruins", "Mestea" - these are words frequently spoken when these rumours are spoken amongst city inhabitants.

Disturbingly, one name that keeps popping up is Dorian Thermarkson, the notorious slave trader, along with his gang of Nethermen assassins. If he is responsible for the Orichalcum heist, it could be that he has regressed even more from slave trading, to robbery and, perhaps, lotus dealing, given the connection between the drug trade and the precious metal.

What can be confirmed is the statement made by a diplomat in his speech to the Royal Council. That is, the final destination of the stolen Orichalcum is very likely to be the seaport at Cyrago, on the Saharan Sea, on the continent of Gondwana. This seaport was constructed to serve as a stopover for both commercial and military vessels, and as a stockpile for remnant vril weapons. Recently, however, enemies of Atlantis have overtaken the port - an assault that occurred about 17 days ago, around the time of the Orichalcum heist.

So the big unknown is who stole the Orichalcum, and for what purpose? Perhaps a cell of Gondwanian revolutionaries are planning to overthrow the Atlantean garrison now stationed on the outskirts of Cyrago? Do they want to wield the resonant qualities of this mysterious metal to enhance their elemental magic so as to drive out the Atlanteans? Maybe the Atheneans have unlocked the secret of creating their own special powers, and need the Orichcalcum to complete the process? Or is some madman is planning to hand it over to metalurgical masters as part of a larger scheme? For trans-dimensional travel? To incite a global cataclysm and end the Second Age?

Geography of the Atlantis continent and surrounding region during the Second Age.
